They are so biased towards the SEC. First off, the SEC is COMPLETELY overrated. Did you know that there are only two ranked teams that have a record of 8-4 (Georgia and Texas A&M), which are both in the SEC. All ESPN talks about is how Florida State has yet to be challenged.
Okay so it’s statistics time. Florida State has defeated 4 Top 25 teams with a combined score of 200-35. Auburn has faced 6 Top 25 teams, defeating 5 of those with a combined score of 211-171.
Florida State’s closest game? Vs Boston College when Florida State won 48-34. Still winning by 14.
Auburn’s closest game? Vs #7 Texas A&M (45-41) and Mississippi State (24-20) barely winning both by only 4 points.
FSU has only 1 game where the score difference was less than 15 points (vs Boston College [7-5])
Auburn has had 6 games that were decided by less than 15 points. (vs Washington State [6-6], Mississippi State [6-6], Ole Miss [7-5], Texas A&M [8-4], Georgia [8-4] and Alabama [11-1].)
So you’re telling me a team that could barely win against a 6-6 Washington State team is better than FSU, who averages 53 points per game? Auburn averages 41 points per game.
Yeah, Auburn played some great teams this year, but so did FSU. Our schedule might not have been as strong, but we KILLED every team. Auburn could barely beat some of their cupcakes.
I’m tired of FSU being overlooked by ESPN. I guess January 6th will tell all.
Almost back to Tallahassee from Charlotte. So proud to be a Florida State Seminole. ACC Champs and headed to Pasadena for the National Championship!
